| Some questions answered
- contact us if you need further information |
| How
does the site try to attract viewers? |
BotanicalArtists.com
is registered with all the major search engines. The "BotanicalArtists"
name has high visibility and regularly comes within the top ten listings
for searches for botanical artists. We also are linked with several
other art related sites increasing our exposure.
We also accept "Google Adwords" advertising which further
enhances our search ratings. |
| Can I upload
images myself directly to my site? |
No, to keep the site maintenance
costs down, only the authors of this site can make adjustments. |
I have my
own web site, is there any
advantage to joining? |
Yes! By having a link on your botanicalartists.com
page to your own site, you can benefit from the referrals and extra
exposure. |
| I am represented
by a gallery, can there be a link to their site? |
Yes, the contact information can
point directly to them. As BotanicalArtists.com does not charge any
commissions there is no conflict, and they will benefit from the
extra visibility of their artists. |
| Can I announce
exhibitions in which I am showing? |
Yes. please email us the location
and dates. Your name and a link to your pages will be posted alongside
the show details. |
| Should I send
slides, transparencies or digital files? |
Please submit digital files in a
.jpg format, 72 dpi. Image width should not exceed 300 px. If you
do not have digital files, we can scan and optimize your slides or
transparencies, however an hourly fee will be charged. |
| Can I send
slides I took myself? |
If you are experienced with photography,
yes - however, slides taken with less than optimum lighting conditions
may not do justice to your work. Some digital image manipulation
could improve them but excessive editing can incur extra costs. |
| The colors
of my paintings look different on my computer screen! |
Due to the variations of different
screens and individual computer settings, as wel as the quality of
the transparencies, colors may not look 'true' to the actual work.
A screen will never replace viewing the real artwork. |
| Why does this
site exist? |
The sole purpose of this site is
to present a "Gallery" of individual botanical artists
to help promote their work, link to their own sites if they have
one, and help the viewer reach multiple artists from a central index.
As a "low-buget"
endeavor, this is an offering to the art community by
a designer (and former botanical artist) who believes the beauty
of contemporary botanical art should be promoted as widely as possible. |
