Virginia M Pattisson

A few words from Virginia

I am fascinated by the beauty and complexity of natural forms. This fascination, inevitably, led to a love of fine art.

Having initially trained as an Interior Designer (and raised a family) I completed a BA Hons degree in Fine Art at Northumbria University. Later on, I began to paint flowers in watercolour, in the style of Botanical Art. Finally, I joined a tutor-led group, studying the discipline of Botanical Representation.

As a Botanical Artist, I endeavour to present a delicate and precise portrait of a flower or fruit, hoping to convey what fellow Botanical Artist Gabrielle Pragasam describes as: “a reflection of the most perfect design of nature and of the most perfect One who fashioned it.”

Specialist in botanical representation of flowers and fruit. Located in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North of England.
