Lynn Stringer
I am a botanical artist living and working in County Wicklow, Ireland. I studied fine art at the College of Marketing and Design in Dublin and graduated with a first in painting but found my true niche in art six or seven years ago following workshops in Botanical Art at the Burren College of Art, County Clare.
I have been working steadily at botanical art since then with solo and group exhibitions in County Wicklow and in Dublin. I am a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and have had work published in their periodical.
I am currently working on a long term project at the Kilmacurragh Botanical Garden in County Wicklow painting a selection of their rare shrubs and plants. As well as striving to be as scientifically accurate as I can, I love learning the history of these plants – when and where they were collected and by whom.
I work in watercolour and pencil from the live specimen. My work is life sized. I have completed many commissions, most recently two paintings for a book which is to be privately published.
