The Beauty of the world around me has been a source of constant inspiration. The perfection of nature can never be duplicated, but I love the challenge to capture even just a fraction of the life and elegance of the subject and to present to a viewer something they might not have noticed. Botanical subjects are wonderful to paint. This kind of work demands the utmost attention to detail, and the intricacy required is an ongoing challenge for me. The design and layout of the picture, and the composition, is also an essential influence on the esthetic feeling of the art.

At the present time I am exploring all kinds of botanical subjects, as this form of artistic expression is ultimately of the greatest interest to me. The challenge is to capture some of the elegance, and catch the fleeting moment of existence of a bloom, so fragile, suspended in space.
