Artist’s
Statement
Amanda Stump is a freelance botanical and scientific illustrator.
Her work focuses on detail while retaining an artistic aesthetic.
Amanda graduated from the University of Michigan, earning degrees
in Scientific Illustration and Art History. Her primary mediums
are colored pencil and watercolor, though she also works in pen
and ink, oil, and graphite.
Amanda is a life-long Michigan resident and her primary interest
is in Michigan native plants. She has exhibited in regional and
national shows and contributes to benefit exhibitions to help provide
funding for animal rescue organizations in the metro Detroit area.
Amanda also works by commission for original artwork and has originals,
prints, and notecards available.
